In my opinion, this set is less intended for surfers. It serves more as an "extended arm" and must be held by hand. Or even as a somewhat wobbly tripod (the handle houses a small tripod to screw on). My GoPro 4 Silver Edition already had a simple device in the basic accessories to attach it to a board, helmet or similar (they say to attach it 24 hours before use). Otherwise, the camera is/was available in special sets for bikers and also for surfers, if I'm not mistaken.

The GoPro 3-way handle fits the following models: Osmo Action, Universal and Hero 9.
