You have to activate TPM in the bios, it is deactivated when new.

Yes, they are downward compatible. The first and last PCIE slot should only be used.The middle two PCIE M2 slots share the lanes with the graphics card.If these are occupied you only have 8 lanes with the graphics card.I would use the slot at the bottom because later when upgrading with more Ssd memory the first slot can be used without having to remove the graphics card.
