Call GARMIN and get help. My aindex S2 turned out to be faulty. After the exchange, the installation was very simple, just like with all the other things that are connected to each other in my WLAN.
Hi, as far as I know, the S2 can only be paired via the Garmin app. It worked for me without any problems. First install the "Garmin Connect App" and then add it to your Connect account.
If you have the weight, the scales will ask which person it belongs to so you can change the person by putting it on again and then it should actually work
I myself operate this scale in a 2.4/5ghz network and it works perfectly there. I therefore think that the error described is probably to be found elsewhere in the network.
Hello Lars
I also had the problem that I had switched off my WLAN overnight. Then the scale could not reconnect the next morning. Since I switched it off, the connection has been working.
Have you entered anything in the Connect app under Garmin devices -> Index S2 -> Display -> Displayed name (3 digits)?
Good luck

The scale connects with WLAN. Users are recognised automatically. However, it cannot be ruled out that the data will also be visible to other users (e.g. unknown/unrecognised users).
The scale only saves and evaluates with the Garmin app, it also displays without the app.
No, not really, but you can calibrate the scales, i.e. enter your muscle mass and body fat percentage, and the scales will then work with these values. I calculated the values on the Internet using certain body measurements, e.g. abdominal circumference etc. calculated.

With the Garmin Index S2 Smart Scale, the measurement data of several people can be saved and displayed, but under certain conditions.
- Each person who wants to use the scale must have their own Garmin Connect account and be connected to the owner of the scale.
- The owner of the scale can invite up to 15 additional people to use the scale. These people must accept the invitation in their Garmin Connect account in order to use the scale.
- Each person's measurement data is stored and displayed separately in their respective Garmin Connect account so that each user's data can be tracked separately.
It is therefore necessary for each person to have their own Garmin Connect account and for the measurement data to be saved and displayed in this app.
I have not been able to get the scales to work so that the weight is transferred to the Garmin Connect app under my name. I have tried everything. Including a software update and followed exactly the same procedure as described on the Garmin support page. The software download does not work (there are no progress bars). I called Garmin. They couldn't help me and sent me a new scale. I have exactly the same problem with the new scale. I can connect it to Wi-Fi and can connect it to the Garmin Connect app via Bluetooth. Everything looks fine, but the scale doesn't find my profile (username) and doesn't transfer the weight to the app. Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try? I'm extremely annoyed because I've spent hours on it in total.
Die Waage funktioniert in Zürich. :-)
Sometimes you need to get on the scale 2-3 times, until good internet connection is there, but in Connect App there will be several measurements, so the scale saves the ones that have not been sent to the app, I guess. These measurements can then be deleted in the app. I have the app on the phone and I have Fenix 6X pro.
What I am not sure about is the measurement of BMI/fat percentage/muscle percentage. You eat a bit more, get on the scale and you see your BMI and fat percentage go up, muscle, water and bone percentages normally do not move much. This cannot be correct.
I am not sure about precision of the measurements, but at least one can follow the development over time.
