"WLAN only" means that the device does not support a mobile phone connection, but can only be connected to the Internet via WLAN. This means that there is no direct mobile phone connectivity as with devices with an integrated mobile phone modem. Instead, notifications and data transfers must be made via a Wi-Fi connection, which is usually established via a paired smartphone.

«WLAN only» means the watch connects to the internet via Wi-Fi but lacks cellular/LTE connectivity, so notifications and data transfers require a Wi-Fi network or paired smartphone.
Compared to other Fenix 7 watches, this version misses LTE for independent mobile connectivity, while retaining Bluetooth, ANT+, and Wi-Fi; some non-Wi-Fi models also lack Wi-Fi entirely.
