Yes, that is correct!
Weight + Curved make the adapter necessary, as the monitor would otherwise tilt minimally downwards with the standard adapter supplied.
I also use it on my G9 and am totally satisfied. :)

According to our research, the Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm is not directly compatible with the Ergotron HX Arm, as they were developed for different purposes.
