Wrapping is certainly possible but doesn't look so good. However, shortening is really easy, you just pull the cable to the desired length, cut it and connect it. The connection itself is done with a clamp that can be released with a screw, which is pretty self-explanatory when you look at it. Then strip the cable (can be practised on the cut pieces) and push it back in as before and tighten it. The whole thing is also excellently covered, so it can also look bad in the housing.

Helpful answer

It will certainly dazzle you, as the bulbs have no housing all round, but you could shorten the cables or wrap them around the upper crossbar so that the bulbs are rather high and thus out of direct view, then it will work safely if you are not too sensitive....

Hello Nadja, according to the installation instructions (https://www.eglo.com/switzerland_ger/Produkte/Hauptsortimente/Innenleuchten/TARBES/94189), a cable entry from the side is not provided. Of course, you can make a cut-out yourself with a suitable tool. I did it myself on a similar lamp with my Dremel.
