Can this adapter output 4K/UHD resolution @60Hertz? The goal is to run my Dell XPS 15 (9550) via USB-C with this adapter on a UHD monitor (Philips BDM4065UC) at 60Hz.

Yes, 4k at 60hz works with this adapter and the XPS15 (9550). You may want to check the HDMI cable you have to see if it is HDMI 1.4 compatible.

I have dell xps 13 9350 and I am really sick of non working dell docks. I would like to use this adapter to connect to 4k monitor dell 2715q. Can someone please confirm compatibility of this adapter?

I am using it to connect from a non-dell laptop to an hdmi cable, which is connected to a tv with hdmi in. So, if your dell monitor also has an hdmi input, you may use this adapter in connection with a hdmi extension cord.
