Hello
I wouldn't do this, because 7.1 in the headphones won't do you any good... The headphones physically only have stereo drivers... What I would recommend, however, is a sound card itself. I bought this headset together with a fiio e10k and I'm happy as a clam.

Thank you very much for waiting! We have clarified this with our supplier, unfortunately the Custom MMX300 headsets are only intended for end customers directly from Beyerdynamic (and unfortunately only as you mentioned, Germany) :( We can therefore not procure the desired version.
Hello,
We currently have no information regarding the availability of the MMX 300 PRO.
Our supplier has not listed it, so we don't know when or if it will be available in the future.
I don't think the microphone is that good. The volume can be adjusted using the rotary wheel in the cable. This changes the impedance. But the headphones are still rather high impedance. Perhaps the Xbox has too weak an amplifier? On my PC with the built-in ASUS audio chip, the sound is perfect.
You're welcome, I tried it on my 2023 MacBook Pro 14". It works without any problems. I also tried this on my iPhone. Had no problem, everything works great. And by the way, the headset is TOP. I'm very happy with it, I can highly recommend it to you, it's mega comfortable.
I don't understand why you see a difference between a (separate?) sound card and the onboard sound chip?
To connect the headphones you need a 3.5mm audio output. This is provided on the back of the mainboard.

No. Every mainboard today, especially gaming mainboards, have good onboard sound processors built in from the factory.
I'm sure yours does too!
I use my MX300 without an internal or external sound card.
If you have a connection for headphones and mic then yes. Connection only with 3.5mm cable. Either separately (2 plugs) or like a mobile phone headset with a combination plug.
Sound loss is probably not really a problem. However, the MMX300 does not have a detachable microphone, which is rather impractical when travelling. A Beyerdynamic Custom Game with a removable mic might be a better choice.
Hello everyone! My Logitech G35 is giving up the ghost (or rather the bracket). Now I am looking for a new power amplifier for gaming. So far, the MMX 300.2 has practically eliminated all doubts (I'm really very Logitech-believing and biased :P). The last point that still leaves me in some doubt is the localisation of the sounds. I am used to a virtual 7.1 that allows me to locate the origin of a sound very precisely (practically blind).
Question: How well can the MMX 300.2 locate the sounds spatially?
Hello
I switched from an Astro A40 to the Beyerdynamic MMX 300.2 and was thrilled. Tracking was no problem across the spectrum. I use the sound card installed on my ASUS MoBo, SonicSuite 3 software from ASUS and activated Dolby Atmos in Windows 10. I also created a preset myself in the SonicSuite 3 equaliser. The sound quality is 1A, and as I said, localisation is no problem.
The microphone is also flawless in terms of voice quality.
I can only recommend the headset. If on-board sound is used, you can get even more out of it with additional software.
Tip (Chargeable, but free for a few days for testing:
- Beyerdynamic's own software, where you send in a photo of your ear and an audio profile is created based on it, which individually increases sound quality and spatial awareness (I tried it myself and it worked).
- Bongiovi DPS
Big plus: ear pads and headband can always be reordered and replaced (especially practical for me as a wearer of a "flesh cap" :-) ).
According to the manufacturer, the MMX only works on a PC. Does anyone here have the opportunity to try it out on a Mac? I can only find very sporadic and very old articles about it on Google.
Until the day before yesterday, I had a GSP 550 - which worked perfectly on a Mac. Ordered a JBL, but unfortunately the people on the other end of the microphone are complaining about poor quality (sounds like it's in a cardboard box). Can anyone here share their experience or if they have the headset try this on a (m1) Mac(Book)?
Salü, Can only recommend the headphones, although there are two "negative" points to mention:
- The headphones are warm in winter, but in warmer days it's not so pleasant --> a matter of taste.
- My team colleagues, with whom I communicate via Skype or Teams, hear every beep. At least for me, nothing at all is filtered through the microphone or the software. Of course, it would be nice not to filter out the speech, but the rest would.
Otherwise, 1A and I haven't had a more comfortable headset yet.
I recently treated myself to the headset. Can it be that the headset is quite quiet as long as it is not connected to an audio amplifier, e.g. Creative Sound Blaster Play!3 or a sound card? Creative Sound Blaster Play!3 or a sound card is it quite quiet? I hardly heard anything in CS:GO at the distance although I have the audio asugabe at 100%, also the headphones have a lot of ambient sound in my room read through.
I had to buy Creative Sound Blaster Play!3, now I can hear everything at a distance, and the ambient sound in my room doesn't interfere.
The Logitech G633s have been very loud from the start, so I don't need to buy any additional components.
