Hi - I bought one of these screens in 6/2022 - and it's not curved, it's flat.
I had a quick look at the manufacturer's website - it doesn't say anything about curved as far as I can see.

I'm also using no special HDMI cable. So far any cable worked fine. I have a Mac M1 mini. However, you can try a USB-C/Thunderbolt IV cable from Apple. I used it before with my Mac M1 mini and a Mac M1 notebook. It's also working flawlessly.
