I can't say whether it works. It didn't work on a Blackberry with Android. You would have had to root the device according to instructions on the internet. We did not dare to do this (security, warranty, etc.).
I do not have Linux but Apple Catalina. Here it works perfectly
We use the adapter for Samsung A3 and A5 with Android version 7, which works perfectly.
I suspect so, because I already used the adapter for my Samsung Galaxy S6/9, which also run Android.

Yes, it is compatible with newer Macs that are only USB-C equipped.
I personally use it on a 2018 MacBook Pro Touch Bar and I am very happy with it
