Question about AVM FRITZ!Box 4020 International or other routers. I am an M-Budget customer and have a Winbox that can't do much. I know you don't get much for little money either, even from Migros aka Swisscom. So my question is, can I get a network-compatible system by connecting a Fritz Box or similar router? Or is there a router I can replace the Winbox with? Thank you for your feedback.

Hello I have the brand new one from Swisscom. I bought the 4020 box so that I can have internet radio again. For this I have attached it as klav in the back. I did this with this link. https://forum.pctipp.ch/index.php?threads/fritzbox-7950-hinter-m-budget-router.45243/

Can I use this router for M-Budget Internet? I want a router that I can switch off at night, because with the Winbox you can't do anything.

Helpful answer

4020 and 4040 are actually only WLAN routers but do not have a modem. So you can't use them for internet without an additional modem. It's actually a switch combined with a WLAN AP and it's called a router because it integrates both LAN and WLAN clients into the network. To cut a long story short, you can't replace the Winbox with it, because neither the 4020 nor the 4040 can route DSL signals.
