It works both ways. Via Macbook, imho, the digital signal is simply "clipped".
I have the boxes on the PC. I have not noticed any such behaviour there. I assume that this will not work. When the boxes are on, only a small amount of noise is noticeable.
I have both of them at home and I would say the sound quality of the A2+ is even better. The sound is a bit clearer and more detailed than the Play 1, but the A2+ lacks a bit of power to fill a larger room, but they are perfect for a desktop setup. The Play 1, on the other hand, has a surprising amount of power for its size and can fill slightly larger rooms, especially as a stereo pair.
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to give any precise information about the time frame. However, we are making every effort to include it in our range.
Officially, only the Audioengine S8 subwoofer is compatible. But any subwoofer with a chinch input will work, as the Audioengine A2+ has a chinch output.
Disregard my question please, I downloaded manual and the answer is yes.
