It's basically an external sound card. But you don't have to use it, and I don't either. The USB dongle from the headset also works without Hive. All audio devices connected to USB or via the monitor work without Hive.
There is no lane sharing with this board, as it "only" has two M.2 PCIe 5.0 slots and therefore the 8 available lanes cannot be exceeded.
The two other M.2 slots run via separate PCIe 4.0 lanes and you will still have 4 lanes left if you equip both M.2 slots.
Hey, I don't have any such issues. I would proceed according to the exclusion principle. Unplug/remove as much of the setup as possible and only use the minimum. If the problem persists, there is a greater chance that it is the mainboard. Possibly also check the power supply unit as the cause. Hope this helps. Wish you good luck.
Thank you for the tip, of course this shouldn't happen. You are welcome to order the mainboard and let me know the order number, then I would have the price adjusted for you individually.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
I confirm, no processor with the motherboard, as is the case most of the time.
Instead, consider a computer that's already assembled if you want to avoid having to buy each part separately.
If you buy it today, very unlikely you need to update it, because X3D support was introduced in April this year (at latest). So most probably your MB will come with a newer UEFI/BIOS. However updating the BIOS certainly recommended. On the other hand, if you buy it with an older BIOS together with the newer X3D CPU, you will be in trouble because you will not be able to start your system up, therefore BIOS update will be impossible (as it requires a working CPU).

G. SKILL Ram is mostly very compatible.
G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB (2 x 16GB, 6000 MHz, DDR5-RAM, DIMM) <--- I have used this memory several times with exactly your combo and it always worked fine with expo profile load and ready (VSoc voltage was even on auto at max 1.25v).

Hello marcosabino.
The problem is not the mainboard. The problem is the Ryzen 7000 processors. They don't support more than 6000 Mhz... so it doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money for such fast RAM. If you want these RAM frequencies, you'll probably have to switch to Intel.
Greetings
Verstehe ich nur so halb… alle mini itx rog motherboard zb for z490 waren auch um die 450… und da digitec prices… Ich sage der Preise senkt sich gleich wenn das Produkt auf Lager ist mit dem Hacken dann meistens geht der Preis wieder runter… and rog will argue you’re getting the hive as well for free etc but yes this generation is expensive… but check prices in Germany it’s like 450-500 there… so prices will come down here on digitec aswell I’m sure … sorry for the language switch up
Hello everyone,
I am currently narrowing down the error... I assembled a new PC in autumn 2023. The following components were installed:
- ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI
- AMD 7900X3D
- Kingston FURY Beast (2 x 32GB, 6000 MHz, DDR5-RAM, DIMM)
- SAPPHIRE 7900XTX Nitro
- I have 2x NVME SSD and 1 SATA SSD and 3x HDD
Runs on Win 11
Now the problem I have at the moment is that the mouse lags sporadically, about 1 sec 3x freeze and this occurs somehow every 10 to 30 minutes. Sometimes more often. Strangely enough, however, as soon as I play Starfield, for example, or other games that I play in full screen, the freeze never occurs! With games that run in windowed mode, the freeze appears from time to time. On the task manager, I can see that the CPU is not really under load every 24 logical CPUs, but only at a brief peak that somehow lasts less than 1 second.
I would like to discuss this with you and find the error.
What I have already done or checked, but which unfortunately did not lead to success:
- fTPM deactivated under UEFI
- UEFI or BIOS updated to the latest version 7 Feb 2024
- Windows 11 completely reinstalled
These are the points I researched on the Internet. My guess is fTPM... But since I had deactivated it once, but no success, I think the problem lies elsewhere :(
Thanks for your help :)
Honestly, I have no idea what the problem could be... I replaced the same motherboard with the Gigabyte x670E Aorus Pro X.
After the change I had 5% better results in the 3D mark and 5MS less latency when gaming online...
The motherboard wasn't quite right for me from the start, as one screw thread was broken right from the start in an M.2 / NVME slot.
The quality of ASUS no longer seems to be what it used to be.
Possibly replace individual components to better localise the source of the fault.
I have had the motherboard since November 2022, at the very beginning I had some problems with 6000MT EXPO Ram, but I have now been using 2x16GB Dual Channel EXPO Ram at 6000MT absolutely stable for 8 months. With the latest Bios update, 6400MT would supposedly be possible without any problems, but unfortunately I can't try this out. Mainboard looks nice, but for the price you have to think twice. What annoys me the most is that all AM5 platforms take much longer to boot compared to the Intel competition, otherwise I am mostly satisfied.
The standard RAM clock specified by AMD for Ryzen 7000 CPUs is 5200. Anything above that is OC.
With RAM, however, OC can be relatively simple nowadays. Intel created XMP and AMD created EXPO for this purpose. The manufacturers store a profile in the RAM that makes the necessary settings in the BIOS of the mainboard if it can do more than the standard clock. You simply have to activate this profile via the BIOS.
