Yes, the Apple keyboards also work with Windows PCs. However, the Touch ID function can only be used for Apple devices.

Apple's "Magic Keyboard with Touch ID", identified by product code MK293SM/A, uses Touch ID technology for authentication, but this feature is primarily intended for Macs and not iPhones. Touch ID on this keyboard works with compatible Macs, but it does not work directly with recent iPhones. iPhones use Face ID or Touch ID built into the device itself and are not compatible with Touch ID on the Apple Keyboard.

The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID is compatible with iOS devices, including iPads and iPhones, via the Bluetooth connection. Make sure your iOS device is updated to the latest version of the operating system for optimal compatibility.

Unfortunately, the keyboard does not have any illuminated keys. Alternatively, you can take a no-name keyboard with illumination and then have to do without Touch ID. Personally, Touch ID was more important to me and I haven't missed an illumination so far.

Yes, it works. But I don't know if it's worth paying more for it now. I'm happy with the keyboard, but not with the fact that I can't use Touch ID (if you can read, you're at a clear advantage, but I assumed what works integrated with the MacBook Air - fingerprint, should also work externally without a specific processor).
