Does Tuch id even work with recent iPhones?

Apple's "Magic Keyboard with Touch ID", identified by product code MK293SM/A, uses Touch ID technology for authentication, but this feature is primarily intended for Macs and not iPhones. Touch ID on this keyboard works with compatible Macs, but it does not work directly with recent iPhones. iPhones use Face ID or Touch ID built into the device itself and are not compatible with Touch ID on the Apple Keyboard.

This is actually a DE layout. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have any Apple keyboards with CH layout in our range at the moment: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/producttype/tastatur-55?filter=t_bra%3D47

Unfortunately, the keyboard does not have any illuminated keys. Alternatively, you can take a no-name keyboard with illumination and then have to do without Touch ID. Personally, Touch ID was more important to me and I haven't missed an illumination so far.

Yes, it works. But I don't know if it's worth paying more for it now. I'm happy with the keyboard, but not with the fact that I can't use Touch ID (if you can read, you're at a clear advantage, but I assumed what works integrated with the MacBook Air - fingerprint, should also work externally without a specific processor).

Hoi - I have now tried this out especially for you (and also for me): The Magic works flawlessly with my Ipad 2020 - except for the fingerprint. I can type, switch. etc.... LG
