The most obvious explanation is that the batteries are exhausted. I don't mean "not charged" but exhausted. A rechargeable battery also only has a limited lifespan - then it can be charged less and less and finally gives up. Recommendation. Replace the batteries and recharge them... then they will squeak again.

The manufacturer recommends a USB adapter with 5V at 2A. Many smartphones already have such an adapter, so you don't necessarily have to buy one if you already have one (or more, like me). Otherwise, I can recommend the following product which meets the requirements (and is also cheap. Adapter only, no cable): Samsung EP-TA20 (1.67A, Fast Charge) PS: Don't be confused by the incomplete designation of 9V at 1.67A. The adapter can also handle 5V at 2A. See also manufacturer's page under specifications: http://www.samsung.com/de/mobile-accessories/travel-adapter-micro-usb-ta20/EP-TA20EWEUGWW/
