If you take the fast charger adapter with it, yes. I have it with my samsung and have connected the adapter. My phone charges a little slower instead of directly from the cable. But still fast
Yes, it works with the iPhone XR :)
It depends not only on the thickness but also on the material of the case. I use the charger with the iPhone in the original Apple silicone case and it works well.
The iPhone 8 has a glass back that works with Qi-certified chargers. So it should work against.

I don't think you can turn it off. But they are not as noticeable as they appear in the pictures. At least in a bright room.
