With this inductive proximity switch / distance sensor, you can detect metallic (electrically conductive) objects. The sensor is perfect as a limit switch for a CNC machine or 3D printer. It also features a handy LED that indicates the output status. To read the sensor with an Arduino, you need to bring the signal voltage down to 5V using a voltage divider.
