Product details

With this capacitive soil moisture sensor, you can easily measure the moisture of plants and determine when they need to be watered. The sensor features a built-in amplifier, allowing it to be directly connected to an analog input of an Arduino. The measuring probe is inserted into the soil and measures the soil's capacitance, which changes with moisture levels. This capacitive soil moisture sensor does not suffer from wear or corrosion like traditional soil moisture sensors. An example program for reading an analog sensor can be found in the Arduino IDE under Examples/Analog/AnalogInput.

Note: Since the sensor's cut edges are not sealed, moisture may enter the circuit board through these edges. To extend its lifespan, you should seal the cut edges with clear varnish or epoxy resin.
