Product details

The ADXL345 (GY-291) is a small, thin, and extremely power-efficient 3-axis accelerometer with a high resolution (13-bit) for acceleration values of ±16 g. The measurement range can be adjusted to ±2 g, ±4 g, ±8 g, or ±16 g. The measurement data is transmitted digitally via SPI (3- or 4-wire) or I2C interface. Due to its low power consumption, the ADXL345 is well-suited for mobile device applications. The module can also be easily mounted using the two designated mounting holes. The ADXL345 is suitable for both static applications for measuring gravitational acceleration (tilt applications) and for dynamic acceleration, movement, or shock. Its high resolution (4 mg/LSB) allows for the measurement of tilt changes of less than 1 degree. The sensor also features special sensor functions such as activity measurements (motion detected, adjustable via a threshold), inactivity measurements (no motion detected), touch detection, and free fall detection. These sensor functions can be individually assigned to one of two output pins for interrupts. For example, a free fall of the sensor can be assigned to an interrupt on the Arduino board for evaluation.
