Principles of Memory Configuration: The memory slots are organized in groups of three. Each group of three has a maximum of 2 slots for UDIMM ECC memory and a maximum of 2 slots for 4Rank RDIMM memory. The different groups of three slots do not need to have the same capacities. Only the memory slots where the respective CPU is present can be utilized.

Memory Configuration for Optimal System Performance: Distribute the memory evenly across the memory slots and across the CPUs. With three identical memory modules per group of three slots, performance can be up to three times faster compared to a configuration of the group with only one memory module. If more than one CPU is present, the memory should be configured identically (mirrored to the other CPU) for each CPU.
