The Pentel company was founded in 1946 and initially concentrated on the production of watercolour and oil paints as well as drawing pencils for kindergartens and schools. The company's own research and development laboratory is responsible for numerous achievements in the world of writing and colouring products. Examples include the first 0.9 mm fine lead for mechanical pencils, the first fibre-tip pen "SignPen", the first rollerball pen "Ball Pentel" and the first correction fluid with a writing tip instead of a brush. For over 70 years, Pentel has been continuously working on new and further developments that make our daily lives easier, especially writing, drawing and colouring. The successful company also came to Switzerland in 1977.
