Significant Personality - Gustav Stresemann

In addition to his outstanding political career, including serving as Foreign Minister of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1878-1929) also became known for the design of a suit. This suit was ideal for public appearances while also being suitable for casual wear in the office. The production of the Souverän barrel involves a complex process, as a striped piece of fabric is created from cotton material in many steps, following a recipe specially developed for Pelikan. This fabric is then shaped and subsequently polished to contour with a diamond. The palladium rings on the upper and lower parts are fitted with the utmost precision before the writing instrument is polished to a high gloss. The slightly springy, characteristic Pelikan beak clip gives this high-quality writing instrument its distinctive design.
