The isolating converter is used when signals need to be galvanically separated. For example, it separates connected grounds. Often, measuring converters or transducers without an isolating converter have their grounds connected, which can lead to measurement errors due to signal overlaps. The isolating converter prevents this issue from occurring. It is frequently used to utilize both current signals from the PCE-P18. In combination, the isolating converter can then transmit the measurement signals to the PCE-KD5, where the galvanically separated signals are processed cleanly.
