PCE Instruments Installation tester

VDE Tester for quick testing of RCDs with selectable test currents. It determines the tripping current and tripping time and is suitable for selective or standard RCDs. This VDE Tester measures the tripping current and tripping time of residual current devices. The various selectable test currents allow for flexible use. In every household installation, there are residual current protective devices that interrupt the power supply as soon as a fault current occurs. VDE Testers allow a fault current to flow and determine at which fault current the residual current device reacts. Additionally, the reaction time is measured. These two parameters, tripping current and tripping time, are safety-relevant for RCDs. The operation of the VDE Tester is straightforward. Besides the maximum test current, you can set the type of residual current device (standard or selective) as well as the measurement of tripping current or tripping time. It can also be selected whether the test current should start with a positive or negative half-wave. After setting, the measurement begins with the press of a button. The VDE Tester immediately provides a pass/fail assessment via the display color. You can read the measurement value on the large LCD display. If the input voltage is too high, grounding is missing, or the earth potential exceeds 50 V, the VDE Tester emits a warning signal.
