OEM APA102 LED strip

Each pixel can be set to any RGB value, and thanks to 8 bits per color, up to 16 million colors are possible. Because of the higher PWM frequency than the neopixels, the DotStar pixels are also suitable for POV projects. The control is done via SPI, using one clock and one data pin. Since the pins are separated, the timing of the DotStar LEDs is much less critical than with neopixels, allowing them to be controlled not only with Arduino but also with Raspberry Pi, Propeller, SparkCore, and others. The maximum clock rate is 32 MHz. Adafruit has developed a library for Arduino and a Python module for Raspberry Pi, making controlling these LEDs easy. To set a pixel to a specific color, an RGB value is sufficient. The APA102 handles the necessary PWM itself at a speed of 20 kHz, enabling flicker-free POV applications.

This is a strip of 5 meters in length with 30 LEDs per meter, totaling 150 LEDs, on a white flex PCB with a waterproof jacket. The strip can be cut after each LED as desired. On both sides of the strip, there is a 4-pin JST SM connector, male at the entrance and female at the exit. If you order a piece of this item, you will receive a roll of 5 meters. Alternatively, we also have this DotStar in a length of one meter. The strips must be operated with 5V and do not have surge protection. The power consumption for the whole strip is a maximum of 7.2W (all pixels on white at full brightness). Depending on the use, the power consumption can be drastically reduced (e.g., all LEDs on red need only 1/3 of the current).
