Nisi ND Base Kit

The NiSi Filters 100mm ND Base Kit is a new set from NiSi Filters that includes two 100x100mm IR neutral density filters: ND8 (3 stops) and ND64 (6 stops). Neutral density filters (ND filters) uniformly reduce the amount of light entering the lens. The ND filter allows for greater motion blur and image details by enabling a wide aperture and slow shutter speed. ND filters are also helpful when the contrast between highlights and shadows is too high to achieve a quality exposure. The ND8 (3 stops) is commonly used for waterfalls and capturing water flows with shutter speeds of 0.5 seconds to 2 seconds. The ND64 (6 stops) filter is typically used during the golden hour to create exposures of 1-2 minutes for smooth water or clouds. A 6-stop filter is also ideal for capturing dynamic water while preserving some texture before the golden hour.

The NiSi Filters 100mm ND Base Kit also includes a NiSi soft filter pouch that can hold four 100x100mm filters (or four circular filters up to 95mm), a cleaning cloth, and four replacement foam seals.

NiSi ND filters do not affect the color rendition of the image, providing lifelike colors and are made from high-quality optical glass (not resin) with a nanocoating to prevent detail loss. When using a neutral density filter, the camera is susceptible to infrared light, which can cause unwanted red hues in photos when shooting with a small aperture. NiSi ND filters feature an infrared protection coating to eliminate infrared light passing through the lens and restore natural, lifelike color.
