Nisi Explorer Collection

The NiSi Explorer Collection 150x150mm Nano IR Neutral Density Filter – ND8 (0.9) – 3 Stop is designed for adventure. These filters feature a special glass hardening process that makes them twice as strong as typical optical glass filters. The Explorer series is much less prone to accidental breakage, making them perfect for active photographers. Neutral density filters (ND filters) uniformly reduce the amount of light entering the lens. ND filters allow for greater motion blur and image details by enabling a wide aperture and slow shutter speed. They are also helpful when the contrast between lights and shadows is too high for a quality exposure. The ND8 3 Stop is commonly used for waterfalls and capturing water flows with shutter speeds of 0.5 seconds to 2 seconds.

NiSi ND filters do not affect the color rendition of the image and provide lifelike colors. They are made from high-quality optical glass (not resin) with a nanocoating to prevent detail loss. Using a neutral density filter can make the camera susceptible to infrared light, which can produce unwanted red hues in photos when shooting with a small aperture. NiSi ND filters have an infrared protection coating to eliminate infrared light passing through the lens and restore natural, lifelike color. The NiSi Explorer Collection is made from B270 glass and uses the same nanocoating process as the optical glass filters. This filter is hardened and reinforced, making it much less susceptible to accidental damage, although it is not unbreakable. Over time, the hardening may wear off. The NiSi 150mm filter system is suitable for cameras with lenses that have a standard filter thread of 49mm to 95mm.
