An illuminated metropolis in Illumina City is a city development plan in progress! The goal of this plan is to make the city a place that Pokémon and humans can truly share together. Shortly after your arrival, you will choose one of these partner Pokémon to accompany you on your journey: Chikorita, Tepig, or Croagunk. Together with your partner Pokémon, you can explore the streets of this vast city or visit wild sectors – habitats where you will encounter wild Pokémon. If you want to catch one, you need to aim carefully and throw a Poké Ball at it or catch it with the help of the Pokémon in your team. For the very first time, trainers and their Pokémon will walk together and act in real-time during battles. Pokémon will execute their attacks as soon as their trainers command them. In addition to type differences, there will be new battle conditions to consider, such as the timing when switching out your Pokémon or the varying duration before an attack launches, as well as the size of an attack's area of effect. Mega Evolution is back! In Illumina City, Pokémon can exceed ordinary evolution with a Mega Evolution! When a trainer's key stone reacts with a Mega Stone of one of their Pokémon, the Pokémon will not just change its form and size – it will unleash unprecedented powers that can turn the tide in battle!.
