An illuminated metropolis in Illumina City is undergoing an urban development plan! The goal of this plan is to make the city a place that Pokémon and humans can truly share together. Shortly after your arrival, you will choose one of these partner Pokémon to accompany you on your journey: Chikorita, Tepig, or Croconaw. Together with your partner Pokémon, you can explore the streets of this vast city or visit wild sectors—habitats where you will encounter wild Pokémon. If you want to catch one, you need to aim carefully and then throw a Poké Ball at it, or catch it with the help of the Pokémon in your team. For the very first time, trainers and their Pokémon will walk together and act in real-time during battles. Pokémon will execute their attacks as soon as their trainers command them. In addition to type differences, there will be new battle conditions to consider. For example, the timing when switching out your Pokémon, the varying duration before an attack launches, and the size of an attack's area of effect. Mega Evolution is back! In Illumina City, Pokémon can go beyond a regular evolution with Mega Evolution!
