Luigi, Mario, and their friends are invited to a luxury hotel. Sounds too good to be true? It is! Upon their arrival, the invitation turns out to be a trap set by King Boo, who actually wanted to capture Mario and his friends!

Now, Luigi must team up once again with Professor E. Gadd to explore the treacherous floors of the haunted hotel and rescue his friends as an unwilling hero.

He can rely on the new Poltergust G-00. With it, he can blow away pesky ghosts, slam them to the ground, and even summon his slimy green doppelgänger, Gooigi. Gooigi can overcome obstacles that Luigi cannot pass alone. Switch between Luigi and Gooigi when playing solo, or team up with a friend, each controlling one of the characters.
