Product details

Its extraordinary imaging performance opens up new worlds of detail fidelity and richness of nuances. It even surpasses predecessor prime lenses with a 1:1.4 aperture.

Whether for an intimate atmosphere or a large event, staged or spontaneous shots, this fast portrait lens with 85 mm and f/1.8 is incredibly handy. The Nikon Z mount with a large diameter optimally utilizes available light and significantly contributes to brilliant detail fidelity across the entire image field. The autofocus operates quickly, and Nikon Z cameras reliably maintain focus on the subject's eye—even in a crowd. The bokeh is wonderfully natural—even in the corners of the image. The focused subject is always rendered with the highest sharpness, and highlights are reproduced as natural blur circles. Skin tones appear natural, and sharpness is outstanding even in the corners of the image—also when shooting wide open. With a minimum focusing distance of just 0.8 m, you have full control over the composition—from close-up to infinity.

Regardless of the environment, Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat effectively reduces reflections and prevents ghosting and flare—resulting in brilliant images. Every component of a scene is perfectly reproduced even against the light. Capture videos with wonderfully shallow depth of field. Whether an emotional close-up or a night scene with rich bokeh, this 85 mm lens showcases your subject in all its beauty. The nearly silent autofocus lets even the quietest moments shine. With the silent control ring, you can set the focus with absolute precision. Focus breathing has been nearly completely eliminated.

Color FotoSingle testReleaseAugust 2022
