Product details

Your favourite telephoto lens is now even more powerful. With Nikon's best autofocus system to date, redesigned S-Line optics, improved ergonomics and a lighter construction, this professional medium telephoto lens performs in more situations than ever before.

The lightest in its class: weighing just 998 g, this next-generation S-Line lens is a full 362 g lighter than its predecessor and 12 mm shorter.

Higher speed, better stability: The high speed of 1:2.8 and an integrated image stabiliser with 6 stops provide the decisive advantage and Synchro-VR offers maximum stabilisation from the centre to the edge with compatible Z cameras.4 Next-generation autofocus: The rapid speed of Nikon's Silky Swift-Voice Coil Motor (SSVCM) and the precision of the Multi-Focusing System increase responsiveness and make this lens significantly quieter.

Next-generation S-Line optics: maximum image quality and a lighter lens. With double-sided aspherical lenses, Super ED glass and SR glass as well as meso-amorphous coating and ARNEO coating against ghost images and stray light.

Smoother bokeh: The new diaphragm with 11 rounded blades and the advanced optics create a softer bokeh that is better defined and smoothly graded, giving a more natural depth of field. Shorter closest focusing distance: 38 cm at a focal length of 70 mm and 80 cm at 200 mm. The maximum magnification is 0.25x at 70 mm and 0.3x at 200 mm.

Agile for videos: Thanks to the internal zoom, the focal length can be changed without having to rebalance the rig. The balance is maintained even when using heavy external accessories. Minimised focus breathing for more natural
transitions.

Removable tripod adapter ring: Included in the scope of delivery, together with a protective cover. A bayonet lock enables secure attachment to the lens. High-quality sealing: Protects against dust, dirt and moisture.
