The MB-D18 is a water-repellent and dust-proof multifunctional handle. It enables higher frame rates and longer battery-powered use of the D850.
When the D5 is used in the MB-D18 of the EN-EL18B lithium-ion battery, the maximum frame rate of the D850 increases to 9 fps. With one charge of this battery pack you can take up to 5,140¹ photos and up to 210 minutes of video.
The MB-D18 also allows more stable handling of the camera when shooting in portrait format. An alternative shutter release button and multifunction selector and AF start buttons make portrait shooting easier. The function handle also has secondary front and rear dials.
