The lens offers an impressively compact design without compromising on image quality. It is ideal for travel photography as well as for amateur shots of sporting events or wildlife. ED glass and aspherical lenses provide exceptionally high resolution and very good contrast. Additionally, Nikon's image stabilization system allows for clear, sharp images even when shooting handheld in the super telephoto range. When you're on the go, the lens's zoom mechanism can be locked using a switch.
