The sensor with PIR technology (PIR stands for passive infrared) responds to minimal local temperature changes, which it perceives as infrared light with a specific wavelength. This allows it to register people, vehicles, and animals entering the detection area while ignoring swirling leaves or moving branches. It also disregards fluctuations in general temperature, such as those caused by sunlight. In this way, the motion sensor avoids false triggers and ensures reliable detection of relevant objects.
