Product details
The goal of the Nicai Systems BOB3 is to inspire young people in technology, electronics, and programming. By building their own small robot, teenagers are engagingly introduced to interesting topics in the fields of science and technology. In a subsequent interactive programming course, students learn with great fun about subjects from mathematics and computer science. This aims to cultivate a personal interest in STEM topics among students in lower and middle school, so they can independently explore these areas.
The BOB3 board consists of a total of 26 components. It comes pre-assembled with the ATmega88A processor and 12 additional SMD components. 13 THT components must be soldered by the young technicians themselves. A construction manual with many pictures and a soldering guide for beginners provide clear instructions for assembly.
BOB3 features touch sensors as arms, can send and receive IR codes, turn on its white headlights, blink its eyes in all colors, distinguish between near and far, and much more. With the separately available programming helmet Prog-Bob, the BOB3 can then be programmed via USB. A web application is available for programming, offering an interactive programming interface along with a motivating programming course that includes 8 tutorials and over 100 lessons. Throughout the course sections, young programmers earn medals, bonus points, experience points, and awards. Depending on their knowledge level, the number of correctly solved tasks, and completed courses, they can achieve titles such as Basic Coder, Third-Level Coder, or even Master Coder.
