Product details

The Neumann KM 184 is a highly developed microphone designed as the successor to the proven KM 84. Since the 1970s, it has established itself as a reliable tool in professional audio production. With its pressure gradient transducer technology, the KM 184 offers a very flat frequency response both on the 0° axis and with lateral sound incidence. This allows for precise sound capture over wide recording angles without any distortion. The capsule of the KM 184, which resembles that of the KM 84, features a slight boost in the frequency range of 9 kHz, giving the microphone a fresher and livelier sound character. The transformerless circuitry ensures excellent technical specifications, including a low self-noise level and high overload capacity, significantly expanding the dynamic range. The KM 184 is therefore ideal for a variety of applications in music and speech recording.

  • Low self-noise level of only 22 dB (CCIR)
  • High overload capacity up to 138 dB
  • Wired signal transmission for reliable performance
  • Suitable for unbalanced inputs, e.g., on DAT recorders
  • Polar pattern: Cardioid for targeted sound capture.
