The literary life of Bavaria in a book: The Munich Turmschreiber celebrate a milestone birthday. Since 1959, for an impressive 60 years, the writers' association has brought together all the prominent figures in the Bavarian cultural scene: authors, journalists, historians, poets, and cabaret artists - in short, a diverse array of personalities - each distinguished by their unique perspective on Bavaria, reflecting on the past and the future, and exploring the often beautiful, sometimes dreary, extraordinary, or everyday aspects of the Free State. For the anniversary, the house book for 2019 showcases a collaborative project by the Turmschreiber: the chain story "Zweitausendneunzehn" is set in late summer Munich and weaves an increasingly adventurous red thread from author to author. Additionally, the anthology is once again packed with new texts from all active Turmschreiber members, along with a nostalgic look back at the stories, thoughts, and poems of the already deceased colleagues in the "white-blue Olympus." Three newcomers also make their debut with contributions: children's and young adult author Margit Auer, author, cabaret artist, and reigning German Poetry Slam champion Alex Burkhard, and the incomparable Christian Bumeder - known as Bumillo, a poetry slammer, cabaret artist, author, and prominent figure in Munich's reading scene.
