Product details

NPort® IA Device Servers provide simple and reliable serial-to-Ethernet connectivity for industrial automation applications. The device servers can connect any serial device to an Ethernet network. To ensure compatibility with network software, they support a variety of port operating modes, including TCP Server, TCP Client, and UDP. The high reliability of the NPort® IA Device Servers makes them an ideal choice for network access to serial RS-232/422/485 devices such as PLCs, sensors, counters, motors, drives, barcode readers, and operator displays. All models are housed in a compact, robust enclosure that can be mounted on a DIN rail.

Cascadable Ethernet ports simplify wiring. The NPort® IA5150 and IA5250 device servers each have two Ethernet ports that can be used as Ethernet switch ports. One port connects directly to the network or server, while the other port can be connected to another NPort® IA Device Server or an Ethernet device. The dual Ethernet ports help reduce wiring costs, as not every device needs to be connected to a separate Ethernet switch.

The NPort® IA5000 device servers feature two power inputs that can be connected simultaneously to live DC power sources. If one power source fails, the other automatically takes over the supply. Redundant power inputs ensure that your device server operates without interruption.

The built-in relay output can be used to alert administrators to issues with Ethernet connections or power inputs, or to changes in the serial DCD or DSR signals. The web console indicates which Ethernet connection or which...
