The ICF-1170I series CAN-to-fiber converters are used to convert CAN signals from copper to fiber optic. The converters feature 2 kV fiber optic isolation for the CAN bus system and two power inputs with alarm contact relays to ensure that your CAN bus system remains online. The fiber optic test mode can be used to test the fiber optic cable between two ICF-1170I devices, providing an easy way to determine if the fiber optic cable is transmitting data correctly. In fiber optic test mode, the fiber transceiver (Tx) continuously emits a data signal, and the Fiber Tx LED lights up. When the ICF-1170I fiber transceiver (Rx) on the other side of the connection receives the data signal from the Tx side, the Fiber Rx LED lights up.
