Product details
Wolfgang Nieblich Born in Reutlingen, grew up in Stuttgart (Federal Republic of Germany), moved with his mother to Kahla and Jena (GDR) in 1954. After four semesters studying mathematics at the University of Jena, he was de-registered in 1968 for political reasons. Despite being banned from East Berlin by the Stasi, which kept him under surveillance from 1966 to 1978, he managed to move to East Berlin and studied painting and graphic art in Berlin-Weißensee. He financed his studies by writing texts for jazz music. After refusing military service and alternative military service, he was deported from the GDR to the West in January 1975. For two years, he illustrated anatomical atlases and medical magazine articles. After that, he worked exclusively as a painter, sculptor, stage designer and author.
