Mesa Boogie Compact Closed Back

The closed 1 x 12 WideBody is a highlight of Mesa's best construction features, combined to create a vast sound range through rear-mounted cabinets with a front baffle and closed back. The WideBody Closed-Back was originally designed as a complement to the release of the Mark V and offers lush bass resonance that supports percussive, clean sounds and medium gain levels, as well as the potential for modern high-gain styles. Compared to the slightly more compact Thiele, the WideBody Closed Back provides a wider bass response with a bit more midrange, resulting in an addictive punch character. High-end details and clarity are maintained through the structural and tuned front Tri-Port, which has been adapted from the PowerHouse Bass Cabinet designs. All Mesa enclosures are made from the finest, void-free, marine-grade Baltic birch. Super-strong rabbet corners are glued and nailed, and the speaker baffles are equipped with an excellent dado joint construction and bracing. The grille is wrapped around a separate grille frame, not around the baffle. The grill material consists of a strong, twisted jute that is dipped in a special coating that filters the high end and provides a sweeter response.
