While humans on the surface struggled against the elements and a race of biomechanical creatures known as the Immortals, the Reclaimers organization fueled the resistance against the Axiom's ruthless government. When an Outer living in exile crashed into the desert of the largest human settlement, hope blossomed that he might be the key to turning the tide of the last revolution.
