The LCS-C842 is a compact, reliable media converter solution that enables network administrators to migrate from copper networks to fiber optic-based networks. Regardless of how the data is transmitted—whether via multi-mode, single-mode, or long-haul single-mode fiber optic, or in half or full duplex—the LCS-C842 is capable of accommodating varying cable configurations.

The Link Fault Signal (LFS) features support the establishment of a redundant or secondary connection. This could be the ideal solution for critical or streaming applications, as well as Fiber To The Building (FTTB) or Fiber To The Curb (FTTC). The LFS LED provides immediate indication when a cable fault occurs or other service interruptions are present. Simultaneous data transmission is switched over a redundant link, resulting in a "non-stop" connection.

The Loop Back Test allows for remote or local testing once activated via the dip switch.
