The camera aligns with a special dot pattern on Livescribe dot paper, which you can purchase inexpensively or print for free on your own laser printer. With the integrated flash storage, notes can also be saved in the pen, so it doesn't need to be connected to the app to record your notes. Combined with "Livescribe+", there are numerous possibilities. You can see everything you write on the display of your smartphone or tablet.
