Lightwin

These cables are suitable for all fiber optic applications in various areas of telecommunications. Typical application areas include patching in data centers, server or network cabinets, as well as FTTH (Fiber to the Home). By using single-mode ferrules for the Lightwin multimode patch cables and specially selected ferrules with minimal tolerances for the Lightwin single-mode patch cables, attenuation values are achieved that far exceed the required standards according to ISO/IEC. Equivalent terms for fiber optic patch cables can include patch cords, adapter cables, connection cables, and jumpers.

A conventional electrical signal in a copper cable is disturbed by electromagnetic fluctuations. In contrast, optical fiber cables offer better protection against interference and are also more secure against eavesdropping. Additionally, the low attenuation of optical cables allows for long distances to be covered. The LC connector is a high-performance fiber optic connector for single-mode and multimode applications, featuring an insertion loss of only 0.1 dB and a return loss of 55 dB. The design of the LC connector is based on a single-fiber ceramic ferrule with a diameter of 1.25 millimeters for a fiber optic cable. The OS designation for a fiber optic cable defines the quality class of a single-mode fiber optic cable. The classification distinguishes between two classes (OS1 and OS2). The distinction is made based on the level of optical attenuation and the possible transmission rate and distance.

Patch cable type

The cable type, describes the structure of a network cable. Fiber optic cables are suitable for distribution over longer distances (up to 80 km) and are resistant to interference. Copper cables can be used for distances up to 100 m and are cheaper to purchase.

Fibre type

The glazier type is divided into multi mode and single mode. Single mode cables are characterized by the higher possible bandwidth and greater distances that they can bridge. Multi Mode cables are easier to manufacture, offer simpler connection technology due to the larger core diameter and are used within buildings or floors.
