LG sorgte mit seinem Flaggschiff G5 für eine echte Innovation, denn das Smartphone verfügt am unteren Ende über einen Modulschacht, in dem Erweiterungen wie ein Kameragriff oder ein spezielles Audiomodul eingeschoben werden können. Leider sind die bisher vorhandenen Module eher Gimmicks und konnten im Test nur bedingt überzeugen...

Das G5 ist erstaunlich günstig für ein Premium-Smartphone, allein das wäre ein guter Grund zuzuschlagen. Bei den Freunden, also den Zusatzmodulen, liegt die Entscheidung dann bei jedem selbst, ob es sich lohnt, zwischen 100 und knapp 300 Euro mehr zu investieren, um das Smartphone entsprechend zu spezialisieren. Mir gefällt es auch so schon ausgesprochen gut.

Das Design ist, wie so oft, Geschmacksache. Doch bei der Hardware und der Kamera macht kein anderes Android-Smartphone dem LG G5 etwas vor. Auch in Sachen Software hält das G5 problemlos mit dem Galaxy S7 mit - wenn auch die Philosophie der Nutzeroberfläche eine andere ist. So sehr mich das LG G5 als Smartphone überzeugt hat, umso enttäuschter bin ich von der Umsetzung des modularen Konzepts...

LG hat mit dem LG G5 wieder einmal sehr viel Mut für Neues bewiesen. Besonders gefällt die Möglichkeit, den Akku aus dem dünnen Alu-Gehäuse zu entfernen. An das Galaxy S7 kommt das perfomante Telefon mit seiner Top-Kamera aber diesmal nicht ganz heran. Hätte LG nur der Gesamtverarbeitung noch den letzten Schliff gegeben...
