The mechanism of the writing and drawing instrument is manufactured in Germany: When the rotary head is pressed, the tip of the pliers opens and the lead is advanced at the same time. When the rotary head is released again, the pliers close and hold the lead in place. There is also a reservoir inside the No. 2 twist grip that holds several refills at the same time and pushes the next one in as soon as it is used up. The graphite colouring of the lacquered tip and the twist grip emphasises the function and character.
