The LD Systems X223 is a crossover in standard rack format (19"/1 HE) that allows for signal distribution to 2 ways (stereo) or 3 ways (mono). It is characterized by a robust overall construction, high quality, stable controls, and an integrated power supply, which is by no means a given in this price range.

Additional features include a mono subwoofer output, separately adjustable crossover frequencies for each channel, gain controls for LF/HF and input gain, a phase reverse switch, switchable 40 Hz high-pass filters, and balanced XLR inputs and outputs.
