Buggies typically feature tires with a pronounced off-road profile and a well-tuned chassis. This makes them ideal models for tough off-road use. The transmissions are often enclosed, thus protecting them from dirt. Additionally, the shock absorbers usually operate hydraulically and can be tuned with different oils.

A brushed motor is particularly convincing due to its simple construction and resulting ease of maintenance. Furthermore, the brushed motor is significantly cheaper to purchase compared to a brushless motor.
